Research Experience

Master’s Thesis — Uncertainty-based ML on EEG during Affective Gameplay

University of Groningen · 2023–2024

Analyzed brain signals to classify motor intentions and emotional states. Compared traditional models (SVM, LDA) with Bayesian/uncertainty-aware approaches, connecting affective computing with cognitive modeling to better interpret player states.

Research Assistant — BioVR (VR Sport Game with Heart-Rate Adaptation)

Georgia Institute of Technology (remote) · 2025.2–2025.8

Designed a biofeedback-based VR cycling game that adapts training pace to players’ heart rate. Led level design, Unity interaction mechanics, and 3D asset creation in Blender. Manuscript in preparation.

Summer Research Internship — HCI

City University of Hong Kong (remote) · 2025.6–2025.9

Two threads: (1) Gamification of text-based interaction — co-designed study; manuscript submitted to CHI. (2) VR cognitive study — literature review, experiment design discussions, and early VR/AR prototyping using Unity and 360° video.

Student Research Assistant — Vocal Cues & Trust (Mouse-Tracking)

Tongji University · 2019–2021

Designed and ran experiments on how vocal confidence and gender cues shape dynamic credibility judgments. Built speech stimuli with Praat/Matlab, recruited participants, and analyzed mouse-trajectory data; this work led to a later journal publication.
